Kathleen Flowers was born February 16th as one of triplets in Detroit, MI. In the late 1970s her family moved to Blytheville, Arkansas and here is where she developed her love for the arts. As a young child, she enjoyed music, singing and painting. Today, she is an artist and an art instructor living in Atlanta Georgia. She has participated in several group shows throughout Metro Atlanta. Flowers received her B.F.A degree in 2008, in painting from Georgia State University with honors and her M.F.A in painting from Savannah College of Art and Design, Atlanta campus in 2010.
Her artistic concept is in the exploration of the natural environment and the human condition. She enjoys using acrylics but she is inclined to experiment with other mediums and materials, making her a materially based artist. With the use of non-archival materials, her works have evolved into wonderful creations of abstraction through the concept of chance. She believes that her goal has been obtained when the viewer finds meaning in her work that is both unique and personal.
